Purr-fect pictures! Adorable snaps capture the best of Britain’s cats on National Cat Photography Day

Adorable, quirky and downright hilarious pictures have captured the best of Britain’s cats to mark National Cat Photography Day.

The annual celebration takes place on September 20 and encourages cat lovers to turn their cameras on their feline friends, capturing everything from their majestic poses to their funniest unguarded moments.

To mark the occasion, Pet Remedy asked website users to submit their favourite photographs of their cats, with amazing and often hilarious results.

Among the entries was Blewit the Sphynx cat, who was caught mid-stretch by owner Kathryn Gibbs.

Ella was photographed with her tongue out by owner Sarah Elmer, while Eric proved it is not only dogs that like sticks in a brilliant picture submitted by Kelly Ann Draper.

Michelle Raworth captured Zebedee in the middle of an enormous yawn, showing even cats cannot look dignified all the time.

Meanwhile, Jenny Mace snapped the hilarious moment her furry black-and-white cat appeared to come to terms with the fact that he had been immortalised in Lego.

And Pickles, owned by Victoria Jones, looked as cute as a button while wrapped snugly in a blanket.

Katie Gwilt, owner of holistic cat care brand The Kat Lady, said: “Cats make wonderful photography subjects because they are so expressive and every cat has a completely unique personality.

“One moment they can look majestic and mysterious, and the next they are caught with their tongue out or pulling the funniest face.

These lovely pictures celebrate cats exactly as they are and show just how much joy they bring to their families.”
