Forget playgrounds and pushchairs, one of Britain’s most unusual animal attractions is being overrun by adults seeking calm in an increasingly chaotic world.

At Kew Little Pigs, a striking 80 per cent of visitors are now grown-ups, as stressed-out Brits swap traditional days out for something slower, quieter, and unexpectedly therapeutic.
The award-winning Buckinghamshire farm, famed for its friendly miniature pigs, is challenging the long-held belief that animal attractions are just for children.
Instead, it is fast becoming a go-to destination for adults looking to switch off, reconnect and recharge.
Unlike many farm parks where animals are viewed from a distance, visitors here are encouraged to fully immerse themselves. Guests can sit among the pigs, stroke them, feed them and enjoy close interaction, with the animals often wandering over for attention. The result is a hands-on experience that many say delivers genuine wellbeing benefits.
Olivia Mikhail, owner of Kew Little Pigs, says the shift reflects the pressures of modern life. “Life is stressful right now, and people are really feeling that. We’re seeing more and more adults choosing days out that offer a slower, more wholesome feeling. Spending time with the pigs helps people properly switch off.”

The surge in adult visitors has prompted the farm to rethink its offering, introducing experiences tailored specifically to a more mature audience.
This summer, two adults-only festivals will take centre stage. Pig Fest on Saturday 25th July promises a lively mix of animals, games and music, while Pig Chill on Sunday 26th July will offer a more relaxed atmosphere, combining music with the calming presence of the pigs.
For those looking to extend the experience, the farm has also teamed up with Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross to launch luxury spa day packages. Visitors can start with a two-hour Piggy Pet & Play session before heading to the hotel for a range of spa treatments, blending animal interaction with traditional relaxation therapies.
Olivia added: “People come here and you can almost see the stress melt away. It’s not about big thrills or packed schedules, it’s about slowing down, being present, and enjoying something simple. That’s what people are really craving right now, and the pigs are at the heart of that.”
