Summer celebration of sausage dogs in aid of The Red Foundation, get your tickets today!

Sausage dogs will be putting their best paws forward at a celebration devoted entirely to dachshunds this summer.
The Red Foundation Summer Social will bring together scores of short-legged stars and their families for a day of dog shows, games, demonstrations, shopping and expert advice.
The event will take place at Stuart Memorial Hall in Tempsford, Bedfordshire, on Saturday, August 29, from 10am until 4pm.
At the heart of the celebrations will be a fun dog show featuring six classes designed to give every kind of canine the chance to shine.
Vicky Wilson, of The Red Foundation, said: “Our Summer Social is always a wonderful celebration of everything we love about dachshunds, while raising vital funds to help dogs in need.
“We can’t wait to welcome dachshunds, daschund lovers and their families for a fun-packed day with something for everyone, from our dog show and activities to expert advice, shopping and some brilliant prizes.
“It is also incredibly special to see so many dogs adopted through The Red Foundation return with their loving families. We hope people will book their tickets, bring their sausage dogs and join us for a day devoted to this remarkable little breed.”
Prizes and rosettes will be awarded to the top five dogs in Perfect Puppy, Rescues Rule, Outstanding Oldie, Fabulous Female, Marvellous Male and Medical Marvel.
The most impressive entrants will then go nose-to-nose for the coveted Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show titles.
Rescue dogs will receive an extra-special moment in the spotlight when dachshunds adopted through The Red Foundation gather for a group photograph. Each of the charity’s former residents attending the event will also receive a special bandana.
Visitors will be able to browse stalls run by independent traders, dachshund specialists, dog businesses, gift companies and an artist.
There will also be an enormous raffle featuring more than 80 prizes, a large tombola and a spin-the-wheel game where every player is guaranteed to win.
Dogs looking to try something new can have a go at hoopers, scentwork and tracking with Jess from Peak Performance K9, whose work includes dog training, behavioural support and canine sports.
Meanwhile, Annabel from ABC Dog Behaviour, one of The Red Foundation’s charity behaviourists, will give a talk about the connection between pain and behaviour. She will also run an advice booth throughout the day.
Owners can pick up potentially life-saving skills during a canine first aid demonstration led by Emily, a registered veterinary nurse at Davies Veterinary Specialists who has fostered numerous dogs with medical and complex needs for the charity.
The session will include advice on what to do if a dog begins choking.
Michelle from Love Hounds Bedford will offer drop-in grooming and general health advice, including guidance on ear cleaning and dental care.
Those hoping to capture their pet’s best side can also visit Charli from Waggy Trails Pet Pawtraits & Phodography, who will offer drop-in professional photography sessions as well as pre-booked appointments.
Food and drink will be available throughout the day, alongside an ice cream van and The Red Foundation’s own shop and team.
Free parking will be available at the venue, which is at Stuart Memorial Hall, Church Street, Tempsford, SG19 2AW.
